I Don’t Believe in Atheists

A true Atheist in the strict sense of the word cannot exist. Atheists make assertive claims such as, “There is no god”, and “There is no afterlife”. For one to be able to make such statements one would have to posses ALL knowledge. We currently only know a fraction of the universe. Most scientists would say even less than that. We only know a little bit about our own galaxy which is one out of hundreds of millions of galaxies in the universe. There very well could be empirical evidence out there proving the existence of God. Until one has attained ALL Knowledge thus being able to definitly know if such hypothetical evidence does not exist, one cannot make such an assertive statement that there is no god. It would be more accurate to say, “based on the knowledge we currently have, I do not think there is sufficient evidence to support the existence of a god or an afterlife. Although that may change in the future.” This would make the person more of an Agnostic. Moral of the story, I don’t Believe in Atheists.

What is the Value of Speaking in Tongues?

Speaking in Tongues is simply your own spirit praying through you in a language that you have never learned or understand. This is done by the enabling and empowering of the Holy Spirit. Speaking in Tongues may be one of the most controversial topics of discussion in Christian circles today. The Bible teaches that it is the initial physical evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. In 1st Corinthians 12 it is listed as one of the Gifts of the Spirit. Paul dedicated an entire chapter on the subject(1st Corinthians 14). Jesus said that it is one of the “signs” that would follow those who believe in him(Mark 16:17). Despite all this overwhelming evidence that the phenomenon of Speaking in Tongues is supported by Scripture, many believers do not embrace it. The discussion these days is not the validity of Speaking in Tongues but rather the value of doing so. After all, whats the point? Why should anyone want to Speak in Tongues?

First off, as stated before Speaking in Tongues is the initial physical evidence of the Spirits Baptism which is an experience that anyone desiring to live a Christian life of power should be seeking.
There are times when we don’t know what we should pray for, or even how we should pray. The Bible tells us that in times like these that come all too often in this day in age, we can rely on the Holy Spirit to help us pray through tongues. We can be certain that when we pray in tongues, we are praying correctly, accurately, and perfectly.
“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.” -Romans 8:26-27

The Bible also tells us that when we Speak in Tongues we are personally bui;t up and edified by doing so.
Anyone who speaks in a tongue edifies themselves, but the one who prophesies edifies the church. -1 Corinthians 14:4

Don’t miss out on all that God has for you simply because of misconceptions and ignorance. Search the scriptures to clear up any confusion or doubt on the subject of tongues. Seek the outpouring of the Spirit today, and all the fullness thereof.

Baptized in the Spirit?

“And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days.”

-Joel 2:28-29
Have you experienced this OUTPOURING of Gods Spirit? This passage seems to describe something very different from the average Christian life today doesn’t it? God says that when he pours out his Spirit on his people, they will live a life of POWER. Christ echoes this promise in Acts 1:8 “But you will receive POWER when the Holy Spirit come on you…” This empowerment is called the “Baptism in the Spirit”. It is mentioned by John the Baptist in the Gospels(Matthew 3:11, Mark 1:8, Luke 3:16, John 1:33). Jesus also mentioned it in Acts 1:5. The disciples were told by Christ to wait for it(Luke 24:49).
What you may not know is that the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a separate and subsequent work from and AFTER Salvation. You are Born Again first, then you get Baptized in the Spirit later. This is backed up by scripture. The first believers were not Baptized in the Spirit until over a month after Jesus rose from the dead. In Acts 19:1-7 Paul finds some believers who had accepted Christ but had not yet been Baptized in the Spirit. Then there is this passage.
“When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent Peter and John to Samaria. When they arrived, they prayed for the new believers there that they might receive the Holy Spirit, because the Holy Spirit had not yet come on any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.” -Acts 8:14-17
So here we have people who are DEFINITELY Born Again Christians but had not yet received the Spirits Baptism.
Speaking in Tongues is the initial physical evidence of the Spirits Baptism. The apostles spoke in tongues when they were filled with the Spirit(Acts 2:4), the believers in Acts 19:1-7 spoke in tongues when they received the Spirits Baptism. Most importantly, Peter and those who accompanied recognized Speaking in Tongues as evidence of being filled with the Spirit.
“Even as Peter was saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell upon all who were listening to the message. The Jewish believers who came with Peter were amazed that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles, too. For they heard them speaking in tonguesand praising God.” -Acts 10:44-46
Notice the usage of the word “for” in the above passage indicating that Speaking in Tongues was how Peter and the others new the Gentiles had received the Spirits Baptism.
I hope this clears up any doubt anyone has of the scriptural validity of the Baptism in the Spirit. I encourage you to examine your own walk with Christ today. Christ wants you to live your Christian life EMPOWERED by the Spirit. Seek the Baptism of the Spirit today.
